Jarrett Ellzey was born in Texas, raised in California, and raised some more in Texas. He has been a trial lawyer for the last twenty years, with a practice focused on exposing frauds, cheats, and bullies. He has an equal passion for writing dark comedy, coming of age, and legal-based stories in both the novel and screenplay format.

Jarrett’s writing explores threads of counterculture, the road, good people doing bad things, morality, and awakening. His characters are typically flawed in relatable ways, and are often searching for a win only to find redemption unexpectedly. His writing digs into the idea that everyone is controlled in varying degrees by their ego self, and great struggle or tragedy reduce us to discovering our true nature.

Jarrett lives in Houston with his wife. They raise three daughters and two dogs, travel, and watch baseball.
